The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales
Thoughts
A Zelda clone from Square Enix is a tempting premise for me. And though the game mostly lived up to that bar, many of the "improvements" didn't really feel complete or well thought out. Despite having a ton of items and weapons to use, I ended up sticking with the sword and boomerang mostly because the menus to change were slow and annoying. The magicite system felt good on a few bits of equipment but I was hoping it would have more impact on the way each item was used. Having 4 timelines use the same map got old pretty quick and trying to figure out which dungeons could be fully run for a given age was a bit frustrating the longer the game went on. I ended up taking a break while playing this game to play other games once I had unlocked all the ages, which says a bit about how things can lag discovery wise when they reuse the map like they did. All said, it is a fun game. Square Enix is just really struggling to release a great game.
